Bathroom remodels, kitchen backsplashes, and outdoor patios installed with coastal conditions in mind from the first day of prep.
Every surface we install is planned around the environment it lives in. Coastal humidity, salt air, and direct sun all factor into material selection and substrate prep before a single tile goes down.
Wet-area tile from substrate to finish. Schluter profiles, uncoupling membrane, and grout sealed for long-term water resistance.

When a shower starts leaking, the visible damage is almost never the whole story. We remove the failed tile and inspect the substrate before quoting. If the cement board is saturated or the pan liner has failed, we say so upfront and handle the waterproofing correctly before any new tile goes down. We use Schluter Kerdi or a liquid-applied membrane depending on the geometry, then install your new tile over a surface that will not move or absorb water.
See Bathroom & Shower TileA backsplash replacement is one of the higher-impact upgrades in a kitchen, and the layout decision is the most important step. We dry-lay the tile first to find the centerline relative to your range or focal window, so the visible field looks intentional rather than off-cut. Grout color gets chosen at the same time as tile because it changes the whole read of the pattern. Most backsplash jobs in an average kitchen run one to two days including cleanup.
See Kitchen TileCoastal patios take a specific kind of abuse. Salt air accelerates grout deterioration, and thermal expansion from direct sun causes cracking when expansion joints were skipped during the original install. We demo the failed surface, inspect the slab for structural cracks that need filling, and build a fresh mortar bed with proper slope toward the drain. The tile we specify is rated for freeze-thaw cycles even though Redondo Beach rarely freezes, because that rating also signals durability against moisture cycling.
See Patio & Outdoor TileWhen a bathroom is being fully gutted, we coordinate with your plumber and contractor on rough-in timing so the tile schedule does not hold up the project. We bring the tile plan to the walkthrough, not after, so niche locations, accent band heights, and floor pattern orientation get decided while decisions are still easy. Large-format slabs in a small bathroom need a specific trowel technique and back-buttering approach to hit full coverage, and that prep time is built into our estimate from the start.

Riviera Village Tile Installation is a small crew based at 730 S Pacific Coast Hwy in Redondo Beach. We work exclusively in the South Bay, which means Hollywood Riviera, Torrance, Hermosa Beach, and Palos Verdes Estates are not just service areas on a list. They are the neighborhoods where we grew up, where our families live, and where we see how tile holds up over years near the water.
The salt air and marine layer that make this stretch of coastline worth living on are also the forces that shorten the life of poorly installed tile. Grout that was not sealed, membranes that were skipped, and materials chosen for looks alone tend to show their weaknesses fast in a coastal climate. We factor all of that in before the estimate, not after.
More About Our WorkWe visit the site, take measurements, and provide a written estimate at no charge. Most estimates are ready within one business day of the walkthrough.
